Does your dog respond really well to training at home but then struggles to focus the moment they step outside? Do they launch out of the car in their eagerness to start their walk? Do they drag you down the road to get to the park as quickly as possible? Do they continue to jump up at anyone they see while out and about?
Don’t worry – you are not on your own! A common complaint among owners is that their dog struggles to transfer the skills learned in the classroom to everyday life.
Now imagine going on that same walk but having a qualified and accredited trainer and behaviourist by your side to guide and reassure you when things don’t go as expected. During this short 3 week course you can turn your frustrations into fun as we head into the real-world together and teach your dog to remain calm when out and about town.
What will we learn?
Improve on the basic skills learned in Puppy School and Canine College (we highly recommend you complete a Puppy School or Canine College course with Paws Off before booking a place on a Focused Fidos course).
Week One – Intermediate skills
Week Two – Road walk (outdoor session)
Week Three – Trip to the park (outdoor session)
Guiding you every step of the way
Training handouts are provided for each exercise taught on the course to help you continue your training on your daily walks.
Recognition of achievement
Every dog receives a rosette at the end of the course in recognition of their attendance and achievement.
For dogs aged 6 months upwards. We will accept pups under 6 months on this course if they have already completed a Puppy School course with a certified tutor.
